Donald Trump knows he’s flailing in the polls behind Democratic nominee Joe Biden, so of course, the president does the opposite of what he should do just four days before Americans cast their ballots in the presidential election. Trump has failed at every turn to lead by example amid the raging pandemic that has taken nearly two hundred and thirty thousand American lives.
Instead of listening to experts, Trump is doing things his way by holding super-spreader rallies to largely maskless crowds. Instead of fighting the coronavirus, Trump surrendered to the disease without putting up a fight. It’s an embarrassing spectacle to watch his MAGA rallies while he mocks social distancing guidelines and wearing protective face masks. But it’s more than that; it’s dangerous, too.
Doctors and nurses are on the front lines working an incredible amount of hours while not whining about wearing face masks as they desperately try to save lives. But, the president of the United States just threw doctors under the bus to claim that they get paid more money if a patient dies from the coronavirus.
“Our doctors get more money if someone dies from COVID,” Trump insisted. You know that, right? I mean, our doctors are very smart people.”

And you can hear the disgruntled crowd of MAGA supporters grumbling in a disapproving fashion as the president attacked our front line workers. “When in doubt, choose COVID,” Trump said, but that’s exactly what President IMAX has done. Trump has chosen the coronavirus over the American people. And now, he’s stirring the pot to get his supporters angry at essential workers.
That’s all Trump has left at this point. He’s not reaching out to independents or undecided voters. He’s rallying up his fact-free base without regard for others. And it’s cute that the red hats laughed with the president while Americans are struggling to survive.
