Alaska Airlines has banned state Sen. Lora Reinbold (R) due to her refusal to comply with its mask-wearing mandate amid the coronavirus pandemic. And this isn’t the first time Reinbold has refused to abide by the simple COVID-19 safety guidelines that are in place to keep Americans safe from the spreading disease.
“We have notified Senator Lora Reinbold that she is not permitted to fly with us for her continued refusal to comply with employee instruction regarding the current mask policy,” spokesman Tim Thompson said by email, Anchorage Daily News reports.
“This suspension is effective immediately, pending further review. Federal law requires all guests to wear a mask over their nose and mouth at all times during travel, including throughout the flight, during boarding and deplaning, and while traveling through an airport,” he said.
The ban from the airline follows the release of video clips that were tweeted out, reportedly showing Reinbold in an argument with Juneau International Airport security over its mask mandate. Reinbold is told in the video that she needs to wear her face mask if she wants to get on the plane. In another clip, the Republican lawmaker is heard asking for the employees’ names she is seen talking to and the name and badge number of a police officer involved.

Whoa! A source just sent this video of Sen. Reinbold at the Juneau airport. She was refusing to wear the mask and the police got involved! She’s also filming @AlaskaAir employees and asking for their names. Hyper loose. A second video is below. #akleg pic.twitter.com/EfaoSU3K9k

According to the outlet, the ban would complicate Reinbold’s commute since “No other airline has regularly scheduled direct flights between Anchorage and Juneau.” However, on Facebook, she seems to have found a way around that by using the ferry to travel.
Apparently, she’s a real maskhole that thinks wearing a mask amid the pandemic is “tyranny.”
“Last year, she referred to airline staff as “mask bullies” and the airline itself as “part of mask tyranny” after being asked by Alaska Airlines flight attendants to wear a mask aboard a flight,” the outlet reports. ‘After the incident, she sent a cake to some airline flight attendants. The cake bore an inscription saying, “I’m sorry if I offended you.”’
“The airline’s ban comes after an incident this week at Juneau International Airport in which Reinbold was recorded apparently arguing with airport and Alaska Airlines staff about the mask policies,” the report states.
In a 17-1 vote, Reinbold was recently stripped from the leadership of the Senate Judiciary Committee following a series of arguments and disputes involving fellow senators and legislative staff, the same outlet reported at the time. She has also spread misinformation about COVID-19, and that comes as no surprise.
