A Republican Member Of The J6 Committee Issued A Deeply Disturbing Warning After The RNC Censured Him For Daring To Investigate The January 6th Attack: A New US Civil War Is A “Possibility”

This is terrifying.

As if things weren’t appalling and unsettling enough as it is, January 6th House Select Committee member, Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, recently made an appearance on ABC’s The View where he gave the American people a stark, staggering warning about where this country is headed if we stay on the current trajectory.

We recently reported that Kinzinger, along with Rep. Liz Cheney, the only two Republicans who are participating in the House Select Committee’s investigation into the January 6th Capitol riot, were censured by the Republican National Committee for daring to be a part of the January 6th commission and publicly criticizing the party’s Dear Leader, Donald Trump.

During his Thursday appearance on the talk show, Kinzinger solemnly said “we have to recognize” the prospect of civil war, going on to add: “I don’t think it’s too far of a bridge to think that’s a possibility,” per a new report from Business Insider.

“We’re identifying now by our race, by our ethnic group, we’re separating ourselves and we live in different realities,” the Republican House Rep. and Jan. 6th panel member stated. “And I think we have to warn and talk about it so that we can recognize that and fight hard against it and put our country over our parties because our survival actually matters.”

“In the past, I’ve said, oh, we don’t want to talk about it, because I don’t want to make it likely,” Kinzinger said of the prospect of another Civil War in the United States. “Well, let’s look at where we are.”

The GOP Rep. went on to note that a Civil War on US soil in today’s day and time wouldn’t look like it did in the 1860s, when armies went to battle.

Instead, he painted a picture of a different possibility: “It’s going to be armed groups against armed groups, targeted assassination and violence. That’s what a 21st and 20th century civil war is.”

Kinzinger was specifically pointing to the ever and rapidly growing issue of division within his own political party, between those who dare to speak out against the terror of Donald Trump and acknowledge the huge role he played in the January 6th Capitol insurrection and those who remain loyal to the one-term, twice-impeached president and continue to whitewash and downplay the violence that we saw at our nation’s Capitol building, Trump’s role in such, and seek to punish and oust those who have the bravery to point it out.

“A once great party, a party that stood for something, stood for principles, whether you agree with those principles or not, is now a party that stands for loyalty to one man, that was clear in the RNC censure, and that’s what makes me sad more than anything,” Kinzinger stated earlier in the interview.

To make the state of things all that much worse, this is far from the first time someone has recognized and acknowledged the very real possibility of an impending US Civil War over Donald Trump and what he’s done to divide this nation.

The RNC censured both of the Republicans sitting on the January 6th House Select Committee and described the infamous, violent Capitol siege as “legitimate political discourse.”

We are very rapidly reaching a point at which there is no turning back. This country will never be the same.
