The deadly coronavirus outbreak that’s gone worldwide was all fun and games to Trump loyalist Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) last week as he donned a gas mask to mock the looming pandemic while on the House floor. Gaetz’s president hasn’t exactly done a bang-up job of dealing with the coronavirus. In 2018, the Trump administration fired the government’s entire pandemic response chain of command. Trump killed the pandemic response system because it was established during the Obama administration.
So, we suppose that the Republican Congressman thought the deadly virus was just a liberal hoax — until it hit very close to home.
“Congressman Gaetz was informed today that he came into contact with a CPAC attendee 11 days ago who tested positive for COVID-19,” the Florida Congressman’s account tweeted.

Maybe he shouldn’t have mocked Americans who have contracted COVID-19. And here’s the kicker: Gaetz was on Air Force One with Donald Trump today.

Gaetz tried to make an excuse for being a dickwad last week on the House floor.
Congressman Gaetz had expected COVID-19 to impact Congress, given the elevated frequency of travel and human contact, and demonstrated his concern last week on the House Floor.https://t.co/zb6P9bmHK7

After Gaetz wore the gas mask, one of his constituents contracted the deadly virus. Sen. Ted Cruz , along with Reps Paul Gosar and Doug Collins, have said they will self-quarantine after interacting with an individual at the conservative conference who has tested positive for the coronavirus — making the trio the first known members of Congress to have possibly come into contact with the rapidly spreading virus. And now there’s Gaetz.
Meanwhile, the chances of vice-president Mike Pence and Trump contracting the virus just got worse. Trump still plans to hold his massive rallies because everything has to be about him with no regard for others.
