New White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is off to quite a rocky start on the job. And it just got rockier because yet another old tweet is exposing her hypocrisy.
Even before she started the job an old tweet resurfaced of her accusing former President Obama of golfing after news that journalist Daniel Pearl had been beheaded by terrorists.
The problem is that Pearl was murdered during the George W. Bush administration when Obama was just a state senator in Illinois. McEnany has frequently defended Trump for golfing as the coronavirus pandemic threatened our nation in February, so this particular tweet did not age well.
Now that she’s on the job and using the official PressSec Twitter account, however, her old tweets are becoming even more embarrassing every time she posts.

For instance, McEnany took issue with ABC News White House reporter Katherine Faulders this week for not addressing Trump as “President Trump” in a tweet, despite the fact that there are only so many characters to work with on the platform.
To you, he’s not Trump, he’s PRESIDENT Trump! https://t.co/EIgPTPDIuO

The thing is, Trump has frequently failed to address former and current government officials using their titles. But McEnany is especially guilty of this, with a tinge of racist to boot.
Back in 2012, McEnany failed to address former President Barack Obama as “President Obama” in a tweet on her personal account attacking him for filling out a March Madness bracket, even pouring on the insults by calling Obama “son” and telling him to govern.
Obama filling out his “presidential bracket” now on ESPN. Don’t you have better things to do son? Like.. oh, I don’t know.. govern.

Keep in mind that Trump spends every morning and every press conference airing out his grievances by attacking the media and critics. He has even bragged about his ratings and constantly watches television, all while Americans suffer and die from the coronavirus. That’s definitely not governing.
Next time McEnany thinks about defending Trump or griping about an imaginary slight, she should sift through her old tweets to make sure none of them come to bite her on the a**.
