American Medical Association Rips Trump A New One Over Claim That Doctors Are Inflating COVID-19 Numbers For Monetary Gain

Trump is a sick man.

Donald Trump is backed into a corner and in these last few days before the election, his bullshit is kicking up to another level. Trump has had every chance to improve his response to COVID-19 and has chosen not to over and over. He has downplayed it, he obfuscated the data, he made states bid for PPE, he encouraged states to prematurely open rendering the lockdowns useless — and now he is blaming doctors for inflating COVID-19 numbers.

Trump, attempting to shift the blame once again while speaking at a rally in Waterford Township, Michigan on Friday, actually said that doctors are improperly counting coronavirus deaths — for profit.

Our doctors get more money if somebody dies from COVID. You know that, right? I mean our doctors are very smart people. So what they do is they say, ‘I’m sorry, but everybody dies of COVID.”

This, of course, is utter insanity meant to distract people from the ongoing reality that Trump is the primary reason why America is in the pits right now. Thankfully, the American Medical Association wasn’t going to sit idly by and let this rotten senile orange man spread his lies unopposed. Susan Bailey, president of the AMA, stood up to Trump’s baseless claims, reminding us of the importance of the healthcare workers and the risk they are taking in this pandemic.

“They did it because duty called and because of the sacred oath they took. The suggestion that doctors—in the midst of a public health crisis—are overcounting COVID-19 patients or lying to line their pockets is a malicious, outrageous, and completely misguided charge,” Bailey said in a statement.

We had roughly 97,000 new infections on Friday alone, we are spiraling out of control as a nation and Trump is trying to blame the people trying to triage his worthless leadership.

Susan Bailey concluded her statement with this:

Rather than attacking us and lobbing baseless charges at physicians, our leaders should be following the science and urging adherence to the public health steps we know work—wearing a mask, washing hands and practicing physical distancing”

The president of the American Medical Association wasn’t the only one angered by Trump’s claims, doctors and nurses had no issue responding to Trump:

We have a choice in the next 3 days— we can elect a President who will take this statement to heart or we can throw the United States to the dogs.
