**UPDATE** Since publishing the article below, Michael Flynn has apparently denied calling for a coup by the United States military and says that any claims of such are twisted reporting:

Americans have found themselves rightfully furious and demanding action after Trump’s former National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, was caught on video appearing to call for a military coup like “what happened in Myanmar” to remove President Biden from the White House and reinstall former President Donald Trump.
The footage of the former Trump administration official comes from a Dallas QAnon conference that Flynn recently participated in, during which he asserted that he is not a conspiracy theorist before going on to claim that Donald Trump was the rightful winner of the 2020 presidential election — a very popular conspiracy theory among the QAnon crowd, MAGA supporters, and the ex-president himself.

But Flynn’s claims that Trump won the election weren’t actually the worst part of the event. At one point, the retired United States Army lieutenant general was captured on video seemingly calling for a United States military coup to install their own leadership in the form of Donald Trump.
“I want to know why what happened in Myanmar can’t happen here?” someone in the crowd asked as they all cheered.
“No reason. I mean, it should happen,” Flynn responded to the ask.
In case you need a refresher, at least 840 people have lost their lives in Myanmar (formerly Burma) as a result of their military coup over the past few weeks, according to a report from the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners. The report also notes upwards of 4400 political prisoners that have been taken into custody by the regime that has taken over.
THAT is what Michael Flynn said “should happen.”

Of course, unsurprisingly, this is far from the first time Flynn has made this sort of suggestion. On the heels of the 2020 election, the former official suggested that Trump could make a similar move and involve the military in preventing Joe Biden from taking over office:
Here’s Michael Flynn on Newsmax saying that Trump could order “military capabilities” to swing states and “rerun an election in each of those states.”

Frankly, it’s pretty clear proof that former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner’s warning of a potentially violent reaction over the grand jury investigation of the Trump Organization from the QAnon crowd was a legitimate one. And to say the very least, people have had enough of it.
On the heels of the footage’s release, Americans have taken to Twitter demanding that Michael Flynn, the retired United States Army lieutenant general be court marshaled for trying to incite a literal coup:
Calling for coup is treason arrest this unhinged lunatic mike Flynn

Why isn’t Michael Flynn behind bars of fomenting a treasonous insurrection against the United States? Surely treasonous words are not covered by Trump’s pardon.

According to the Military Times, it isn’t actually unheard of for a retired member of the military to still be court-martialed, as recently as January of last year, the Navy Appeals Court decided that “a Navy retiree was properly court-martialed and convicted for a crime committed after he had left active duty.”
