Vice-Chair of the House Select Committee, Wyoming House Rep. Liz Cheney, read texts sent to Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows during the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. Some of the desperate pleas were from Fox News personalities while others were from the former president’s eldest son, Don Jr. Some of the texts also came from Republican lawmakers who worked to delay or halt the counting of electoral votes. The committee did not name those lawmakers.
Those texts were sent to Meadows. Still, now we’re learning through CNN’s Manu Raju that South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham texted Ivanka Trump to use her as a conduit to now-former President Donald Trump to “tell his people to leave.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham said he didn’t text with Meadows on Jan. 6 —- but told me he spoke with Ivanka Trump to deliver a message to her dad. He said he wanted then-President Trump to “tell his people to leave.”

That went down on Twitter like Melania on date night.
I want to see what Jared and Ivanka were texting to Meadows.

So disappointed there were no texts read by the 1/6 committee from Ivanka begging her daddy to tell them to stop. But it figures. She never told him to stop either.

Sounds like Ivanka’s phone records need to be subpoenaed if they haven’t already been. Who else reached potus through her? https://t.co/IPIuwbs2uD

The Washington Post reported in late October that Graham called Ivanka Trump repeatedly with suggestions for what the president should say. “You need to get these people out of here,” he told her at the time. “This thing is going south. This is not good. You’re going to have to tell these people to stand down. Stand down.”
For 187 minutes, Trump did nothing to stop his mob of supporters from attacking the Capitol.
