Vice-Chair of the House Select Committee, Wyoming House Rep. Liz Cheney, read texts sent to Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows during the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. Some of the desperate pleas were from Fox News personalities while others were from the former president’s eldest son, Don Jr.  Some of the texts also came from Republican lawmakers who worked to delay or halt the counting of electoral votes. The committee did not name those lawmakers.

Those texts were sent to Meadows. Still, now we’re learning through CNN’s Manu Raju that South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham texted Ivanka Trump to use her as a conduit to now-former President Donald Trump to “tell his people to leave.”

That went down on Twitter like Melania on date night.

The Washington Post reported in late October that Graham called Ivanka Trump repeatedly with suggestions for what the president should say. “You need to get these people out of here,” he told her at the time. “This thing is going south. This is not good. You’re going to have to tell these people to stand down. Stand down.”

For 187 minutes, Trump did nothing to stop his mob of supporters from attacking the Capitol.
