Donald Trump has continued to sow hatred and division in the United States while we’re all reeling from a national crisis, as well as the brutal killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers. This country needs to find solutions to systematic racism so that we can heal, but Trump has made threats of unleashing the military on anti-racist protesters. I could be wrong, but I think Donald is doing this to see if the military will have his back if he loses the election and refuses to vacate the White House in November.
Trump’s words have been so authoritarian recently over the protests that US citizens are concerned that he will sic the military on them for exercising their First Amendment rights. Trump is treating American citizens as the enemy.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley told reporters, “All options are on the table” for the use of the military to deal with nationwide unrest and seemed to confirm our greatest fears.

Does that include nukes? Seriously? Peaceful protestors don’t require a response from LE.

@hogangidley45 needs to resign!
GOP needs to pick a side, you do not threaten U.S. citizens with U.S. military troops!

Even nukes, Hogan?

Is anyone going to say anything about this dictatorship forming? Why is the us military on the table to battle the American people?

Former officials from this administration have been speaking out against Trump’s recent rhetoric. Religious leaders and even the Secretary of the Army have made it clear that they do not support Trump’s threats of violence against protesters. A president is supposed to calm the population amid a national crisis instead of freaking everyone the fuck out even more. We’re not sure how he even has any sort of support right now. This is still the United States, despite the president trying to fracture us for his own benefit.
No matter how many walls this president has constructed around the White House, he’ll have to face the American people after election day.
