Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Republican Florida Senator Rick Scott have been very vocal in their unwillingness to send any additional federal aid to the state of New York — the epicenter of the coronavirus in the United States — describing any funding sent to the COVID-19 overrun state as “bailouts.”
In return, the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, was quick to meet the Republican Senators’ rhetoric with some of his own, complete with a simple math lesson to get through their thick, MAGA-armored skulls.
“Who is bailing out whom?” the New York governor fired back at the pair of GOP Senators.
Cuomo quickly backed himself up with some simple math for the Republican dimwits, explaining that the state of New York gives far more money into the federal government through taxes than it has ever received from the federal government in aid.

“Every year we put in $29 billion more than we take out,” Cuomo stated.
However, both Kentucky and Florida, the Senators’ respective states, are on the other end of the spectrum when it comes to what they’re paying in versus what they’re receiving from the federal government. And Cuomo wasted no time in pointing out as much.
“Sen. Mitch McConnell, you are bailing out New York?” the New York governor sarcastically questioned. “When every year you take out more from the kitty, the federal pot, $37 billion more than you put in? Who is bailing out whom?”
Andrew didn’t leave out Florida Senator Rick Scott either who recently claimed that his state “lives within its means” and shouldn’t be responsible for “bailing out” states such as New York.
But Cuomo was quick to point on that Scott’s “within its means” claim was a crock.
“Sen. Scott, you’re going to bail us out? You take out $30 billion more every year than you pay in,” the governor said, adding, “How dare they! How dare they when those are the facts. How long are you going to play the American people and assume they’re stupid?”
“The facts damn everything they’re saying,” Cuomo blistered, before wrapping things by daring the Senate Majority Leader to try to pass the federal legislation that would be required to allow states to go into bankruptcy.
It sounds to be that Mitch and Rick picked the wrong governor to mess with.
