Apparently Donald Trump Claims To Know The Reason Why Lindsey Graham Is Such A Kiss A*s

Oof. That's pretty humiliating.

If nothing else, the feud between Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham just got a hell of a lot funnier.

It’s no big, well-kept secret that Trump and Graham weren’t each other’s biggest fans during the 2016 Republican presidential primary. In fact, there were so pretty infamous insults thrown Trump’s way back in the days of his first election campaign — such as Graham dubbing Donald as a “jackass” in response to Trump declaring that the now-deceased Republican Senator John McCain was “not a war hero” and, of course, that notorious May 2016 tweet where the South Carolina lawmaker declared, “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…….and we will deserve it.” The beef got super interesting when, after the “jackass” remarks, then-candidate Trump went on to retaliate by publicly sharing the Republican congressman’s phone number.

However, we watched in collective horror as Graham morphed into a top-notch Trump bootlicker as soon as he took office.

Now, since then, things have kind of come full circle, as Graham now remains the spineless sycophant we’ve come to know and despise, while Trump turns things around and regularly attacks the GOP senator every time he dares to peep a word that Donald could even perceive as disagreeing.

And apparently, Trump finds that pretty entertaining and comical, as he allegedly once quipped about the way Graham “kisses his ass.”

According to excerpts from New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman’s forthcoming book, Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America, published in The Atlantic, Haberman once paid a visit to the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., the resort where Trump tends to spend his summers in his post-White House days, splitting his time between his estate up north and his Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach.

Haberman explains that while she waited for Trump, she caught a glimpse of the South Carolina senator, who she’d seen twice now in relatively close proximity to the former president. This time, Graham was reportedly wearing golf pants.

“Trump eventually entered the room, having lost a noticeable amount of weight since I had seen him last,” Haberman wrote in Confidence Man. “Graham followed a minute later and gestured toward Trump. ‘The greatest comeback in American history!’ Graham declared.”

“Trump looked at me,” Haberman continues, “‘You know why Lindsey kisses my ass?’ he asked. ‘So I’ll endorse his friends.'”

According to Maggie, Graham apparently found this backhanded insult to be absolutely hilarious, laughing “uproariously.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen and nonbinary friends, is the day Lindsey Graham lost what little self-respect he had left.
