Last night, Wyoming GOP House Rep. Liz Cheney lost her primary election and officially conceded the race to her challenger, Harriet Hageman. Cheney serves as a prominent member of the January 6th House Select Committee in her position as vice chair of the panel and staunch Never Trump Republican in a party that’s been fully engulfed by MAGA sycophants.
To be entirely frank, her loss was an expected one, as she was one of very few Republicans in Congress to have the nerve and bravery to go against the grain and fight for what is right and just in this nation, even if it meant crossing the GOP’s Dear Leader, Donald Trump.
Despite the fact that we often don’t agree with many of her policies and principles, we can fully admit that she’s been a pillar of strength, grace, and a bit of spitfire as she dedicated her life to bringing down the man who destroyed this nation from the inside out, even knowing that it would likely cost her political career in the end.
In her concession speech, Cheney noted that she had already called Hageman to congratulate her on her victory in the election but made it clear that her ongoing fight against former President Donald Trump is far from over.

“This primary election is over, but now the real work begins,” Cheney said in her speech.
Ex-President Trump was, of course, quick to hit his Truth Social platform in an attempt to rub the GOP lawmaker’s loss in her face, ultimately damning Cheney to the “depths of political oblivion.”
And now, apparently, he’s taken things a step further still — while demonstrating to the world that he still has not a single grasp one how the US government actually works — when he took to his floundering site today with the apparent belief that now that Cheney has lost her election, the January 6th House Select Committee and their investigation into his actions leading up to and during the violent Capitol attack will just… disappear.
I assume that with the very big Liz Cheney loss, far bigger than had ever been anticipated, the January 6th Committee of political Hacks and Thugs will quickly begin the beautiful process of DISSOLUTION? This was a referendum on the never ending Witch Hunt. The people have spoken!”

You literally can’t make this stuff up.
I feel sorry for the guy who has to tell him that’s now how this works. That’s not how any of this works.
