As Biden Visits Storm-Torn Texas, Ted Cruz Will Reportedly Be Giving A Speech On “Cancel Culture” In Florida

Ted's priorities are a bit off.

Sen. Ted Cruz has found himself in the news a lot lately after his trip to sunny Cancun, Mexico, while his constituents were blasted with cold weather in Texas, leaving them without power and water. And to show you where the Texas Republican’s priorities are, Cruz will be delivering remarks on “cancel culture.” At the same time, President Joe Biden will tour some areas hit hard by the weather crisis, Business Insider reports.

Cruz has a speaking engagement on that same day at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida. And his timing is a bit off again, and his speech called “Bill of Rights, Liberty, and Cancel Culture” seems to take priority over his constituents once again.  Former President Donald Trump will give a speech at CPAC on Sunday titled “America Uncancelled” because so-called cancel culture is the most important issue in America right now to Republicans. And Trump is the king of canceling those he perceives as disloyal to him.

“Though it’s typical for senators to travel with the president when visiting their states, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that there were “limitations on space” on Air Force One, making it impossible for Cruz or his fellow GOP Sen. John Cornyn to join,” the news outlet reports. “Instead, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will accompany the president.”

“There are some limitations on space available, so there are not members, I don’t believe, of any party traveling with the president to Texas,” Psaki told reporters, adding that First Lady Dr. Jill Biden would be joining her husband on his trip. “But again, he’s going to be spending the day traveling with Gov. Abbott and surveying the damage on the ground.”

Psaki went on to say that Biden will “meet with local leaders to discuss the winter storm, relief efforts, progress toward recovery, and the incredible resilience shown by the people of Houston and Texas.”

While Cruz was rushing back from Cancun after he caused a firestorm of attention, the Democrat the Texas Republican defeated in 2018, Beto O’Rourke, raised money for storm victims and delivered direly needed water from his pickup truck. Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raised nearly $5 million to help Texans hit by the winter storm. I’m starting to see a pattern here. Have no fear, though; Cruz will address ‘cancel culture.’
