As Investigators Close In, Trump And Melania Reportedly To Attend Lavish New Year’s Eve Ball At Mar-a-Lago

It looks like they just couldn't resist any longer.

The House Select Committee’s investigation into the infamous January 6th riot is undeniably heating up with each passing moment these days, as the first anniversary of that fateful insurrection rapidly approaches, and Democrats come closer and closer to the prospect of losing the House in the upcoming midterm elections — and Trump is certainly feeling the heat.

Just recently, we reported that the one-term, twice-impeached ex-president’s anxiety and agitation surrounding the January 6th investigation has been rapidly mounting here lately, especially after a massive dump of text messages sent to Mark Meadows on that fateful day, revealed by the House Select Committee, seemed to highlight Donald’s blatant inaction as his supporters stormed the Capitol building and directly endangered the entirety of Congress.

And, frankly, Committee members have made it clear that’s it likely to only get worse from here for the former guy.

But it seems Trump is doing his best to hide his fears and worries amid the holidays, as a new report from the DailyMail says the ex-President and his third wife, former First Lady Melania Trump are set to once again the New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago after skipping the massive, glamourous event last year following Donald’s humiliating election loss.

Of course, it’s always possible that the former guy could change his mind between now and then, but so far sources close to Donald Trump are saying that he and his wife Melania are planning to attend the big black-tie event at his Palm Beach club.

Last year, in a sudden and somewhat unusual move for Trump, he and Melania opted out of the big event, where people had paid up to $1,000 to attend, rather last minute and instead spent New Year’s Eve in Washington, D.C. — assumably to avoid the shame of facing his allies and friends so soon after his brutal loss to Joe Biden.

Trump spent this time last year putting all his time and effort into somehow blocking the certification of Joe Biden’s popular vote and Electoral College win — just a few days later, he would headline the infamous “Stop the Steal” rally right in front of the U.S. Capitol building, that would later go on to devolve into the violent Capitol siege by his supporters.

The report notes that this year, Trump and his wife “could be back on the red carpet where, in the past, Trump has enjoyed playing host of the event and speaking to reporters.”
