As Trump’s New Social Media Platform Continues To Brutally Flounder, Fox News Flat-Out Denies Having An Account On The Struggling App, Despite CEO Devin Nunes Claiming They Do: “We Aren’t On Truth Social”

That's embarrassing!

It wasn’t that long ago at all that a Business Insider reporter went undercover to get an account on and gain access to ex-President Donald Trump’s new social media app, Truth Social — only to determine that the multiple reports of the app’s alleged struggles were absolutely true. Ultimately, the Insider journalist dubbed the Trump-founded social media platform — that was essentially supposed to be a knock off of Twitter after Donald got indefinitely banned from the real one — a Conservative “ghost town,” as the app featured a ridiculously long waiting list, was extremely difficult to get into and navigate, and was virtually overrun by nothing but bots.

And now, it gets even worse.

For the ironically dubbed “Truth Social” platform, it seems the company is severely, yet unsurprisingly, lacking in the actual truth department. Recently, the company’s CEO Devin Nunes, who prematurely left his position in US Congress to come head Trump’s social media app venture, claimed in a Truth Social post, “Great to have RSS feed for @FoxNews now LIVE here on TRUTH! This adds to @OAN and @NewsMax.”

But a new report from Axios says Fox has spoken out and claimed that whatever entity is on Truth Social under the Fox News name is a fake, because the real Fox News Network has yet to join the disgraced ex-president’s social media platform.

“We aren’t on Truth Social,” Fox reportedly told the publication in response to a new “verified” account bearing the Fox name cropped up on the ex-president’s social media app. A spokesperson for Fox said the network has absolutely no association with the new account on Truth Social.

Of course, I’m sure Nunes was thrilled at the prospect of Fox News joining the founding app, as it likely would have helped boost the struggling new social media company.

“Shares of the blank-check company taking Truth Social public spiked on Tuesday afternoon, after an Axios reporter tweeted about the mere existence of the verified account,” Axios reports. That tweet in question has since been deleted but it originally came about thanks to the verification that the Fox account had already been allotted on Truth Social, and was bolstered by Nunes’ brag post.

Numerous notable media and sports companies — including Fox Sports, TMZ, NFL, NASA, and NASCAR — appear to have accounts on Truth Social and regularly pop up as suggested users for newcomers to the app. However, if you look closely, none of these accounts feature a verification badge and, in fact, include a small “BOT” disclaimer that, if clicked, explains, “This account is an RSS feed aggregating bot, and is not managed by or affiliated with the referenced news outlet.”

When it comes to the new Fox account on Truth Social, it does feature a verification indicator and does not have a “BOT” disclaimer, despite the network maintaining that they’re not behind it.
