As We Get Closer To The Election, More Trump Officials Are Speaking Out Against Him: “‘You Bet Your Ass I’ve Got Regrets”

The price of staying quiet is just too high.

Those of us over here on this side of the fence have long been saying that Donald J. Trump is quite literally the worst excuse for “leadership” this country has ever seen. We’ve been screaming from the rooftops since day one that this will go down in history, our children will read textbooks complete with a chapter on America’s dark years under the reign of terror that has been the Trump administration.

But despite what the Right attempts to say, this isn’t all in our head. Donald Trump is quite literally the worst president this nation has ever seen, and there’s proof.

Not only is Trump polling lower than any other president has in decades, a new report from Time 100 now writes:

Never in recent history have so many senior former U.S. officials publicly attacked the commander in chief they served, or the decisions he’s made, as the ranks lining up to say President Donald Trump put himself and his re-election ahead of the country, thereby threatening its security.”

Quite literally, we have never, in our lifetimes, seen a president with this many former officials not only turning against him but actively and publicly speaking out about it.

One of the most recent criticisms comes from retired Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, who served as Trump’s advisor from 2017 to 2018. McMaster, whose new book, Battlegrounds: the Fight to Defend the Free World, takes aim directly at Trump’s harrowing policies rather than the man himself.

“I hope Trump supporters read the book, I hope Trump haters read the book, and maybe find this book as a way to come together and… restore a degree of bipartisanship, at least to our foreign policy,” McMaster, who has never voted in his 34 years of Army service said of his book. He went on to explain that he will not be directly describing his interaction within the Trump White House so as not to further divide America.

However, McCaster is far from the only former Trump official who can no longer stay quiet as the possibility of another Trump term looms over our heads. John Bolton called Trump a “danger for the Republic” while others have taken a more subtle approach — like Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley, who both rebuked the president by expressing their personal regret for joining Trump in his Lafayette Square fiasco.

Miles Taylor, one of the most vocal Trump detractors said, “Do I have regrets about that? You bet your ass I’ve got regrets about that,” regarding his role in the inhumane and cruel border policies.

Another former official who is still weighing their decision on going public has stated, “Everything, every decision, was made based on his re-election as opposed to what’s good for the country. There is no bottom to this guy… There is no level so low that he will not stoop to. And his sycophants will support him every step of the way.”

The report takes a deep dive into Trump’s crumbling support from his former staff, all but proving that we’ve been right as rain since the very beginning. Donald Trump is the worst thing to ever happen to this nation.
