Attorney General Went On National Television And Attacked The FBI, Appeared To Confuse “WikiLeaks” With “Wikipedia”

Wait, WHAT?

Attorney General William Barr came under fire over his objection to the DOJ Inspector General’s report in which he disagreed with the findings. Barr seemed to be playing the part of Trump’s top defender instead of the Attorney General.  Barr said the FBI may have operated out of “bad faith” when it investigated whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

“I think our nation was turned on its head for three years based on a completely bogus narrative that was largely fanned and hyped by a completely irresponsible press,” Barr said in an NBC interview with Pete Williams. “I think there were gross abuses …and inexplicable behavior that is intolerable in the FBI.”

“I think that leaves open the possibility that there was bad faith,” he continued.

Barr still claimed that the Trump campaign was spied on, noting that the FBI used confidential informants who recorded conversations with Trump campaign officials. Of course, Trump claimed for years that former President Barack Obama spied on Trump but the report shows no evidence of that.

“It was clearly spied upon,” he insisted. “That’s what electronic surveillance is … going through people’s emails, wiring people up.”

“There was and never has been any evidence of collusion and yet this campaign and the president’s administration has been dominated by this investigation into what turns out to be completely baseless,” he added as if completely unaware of Don Jr’s infamous Trump Tower meeting.

To further demonstrate that Barr doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing, he appeared to confuse WikiLeaks with Wikipedia before the host corrected Trump’s attorney general.

“Later, after the DC– ah, the DNC hack,” he said, adding “and the dumping through Wikipi– Wikipedia in July.”

Barr appears to be all over the map in an attempt to defend his boss.

And, of course, Barr suggested again that Obama, not Trump, tried to interfere in the 2016 election. Aside from Junior’s Trump Tower meeting with Russians which he attended to dig up dirt on Hillary Clinton, Trump fired FBI Director James Comey then told Russian officials the very next day in the Oval Office that by doing so, it relieved pressure on him over Russia.

That meeting was closed to the press, and Trump just did it again, meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov without the press allowed in. During the 2017 meeting, Trump divulged classified information to the Russians. Maybe, just maybe, if Trump would stop doing shady shit, then he wouldn’t look compromised.
