Barack Obama Responds To Trump’s “Kung Flu” Rhetoric With Blistering Criticism: “Shocks And Pisses Me Off”

Since leaving the White House, former President Barack Obama seemingly did his best to stay out of politics for the most part. Even knowing how terrible Donald Trump was and is from the very beginning, Obama remained respectful during the transition of power and served as a powerful yet mostly quiet ally for those who would soon suffer at the hands of his “replacement.”

However, the impending presidential election in which Trump is sure to go head to head with Obama’s former Vice President in combination with the recent killing of George Floyd at the hands of a group of law enforcement officers in the streets of Minneapolis (as well as the numerous murders like Floyd’s, such as Breonna Taylor) has all but forced Obama back into the limelight.

And it seems as though while he’s there, he figures he should make the most out of the opportunity to get his voice heard. And he’s certainly not letting it go to waste.

During a recent invitation-only Zoom meeting that the former president participated in, Obama reportedly touched on the racist “Kung Flu” rhetoric that Donald Trump has been using to describe the coronavirus that has turned into a massive, global pandemic under his watch and killed hundreds of thousands of Americans with no real end in sight.

“I don’t want a country in which the president of the United States is actively trying to promote anti-Asian sentiment and thinks it’s funny. I don’t want that. That still shocks and pisses me off,” Obama fired off, according to the transcripts of the private Zoom meeting.

A recent report from the Times explains that Obama is working hard to balance his time between his retirement and his work to ensure that his former VP and close personal friend secures the election come November.

It’s crystal clear at this point that Obama is absolutely done with Donald Trump. And if that means getting rowdy until this nation’s biggest embarrassment is nothing but a distant memory, then I guess Obama is getting rowdy, folks.
