Boris Johnson Reminds Us All Why He Could Be The British Version Of Trump When He Loses A Battle With An Umbrella

They're like peas in a pod.

Throughout Donald Trump’s long and harrowing four-year term in the United States White House, there was a long-running “joke” about him having a twin across the pond in the form of Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Over those four years, the similarities between Trump and Johnson were pretty much impossible to ignore. Their politics were strikingly similar as were the platforms and attitudes. Hell, they even look alike, if you ask me. Even NPR ran an article on the similarities between the two world leaders.

It wasn’t just outsiders who noticed the likeness between Donald and Borris. Even Trump himself made a quip about the comparison between himself and his British counterpart back in 2019.

Now that Trump is out of the White House (finally) and Johnson’s chances at reelection across the pond aren’t looking much better, the topic of the twin terrors in the US and Britain hasn’t been brought up in a while. Frankly, we’ve had more important fish to fry.

However, a little snafu between Johnson and an innocent umbrella today brought it all rushing back.

Yesterday, the British Prime Minister attended what was supposed to be a somber event, the unveiling of a memorial to police officers who have died in the line of duty, according to a report from Reuters. But things took a silly turn when Boris seemingly pulled a page straight from Donald Trump’s playbook and found himself in a physical struggle with his umbrella.

The ordeal was so hilarious that even Prince Charles couldn’t hold back his amusement during the serious event.

Charles wasn’t the only one amused by Boris’ Trump-like blunder. Social media was all over it, as well:

They should really start making sure these people can use inanimate objects before letting them lead entire countries.
