Buffalo Suspect’s Manifesto Reportedly Relied On Similar Wh*te Supremacist Conspiracy Theory Promoted By Tucker Carlson And We Can’t Say That We’re All That Surprised

This hits the nail on the head.

Recently, the US has been sent reeling yet again, on the heels of yet another violent mass shooting in this nation, after a gunman opened fire on a Buffalo, New York, supermarket in a predominantly Black area of the city. The assailant ultimately claimed 10 innocent lives with his senseless act of violence.

It came as a shock to absolutely no one that the shooter was quickly linked to a massive “manifesto” online, that heavily leaned into the “great replacement theory” — a notion that touts the unhinged claim that Democrats in the country are attempting to overthrow white voters in the US with Hispanic immigrants and other people of color in an effort to give minorities an electoral advantage.

“Zip code 14208 in Buffalo has the highest black percentage that is close enough to where I live,” a line from the alleged shooter’s manifesto reads.

Now, Inae Oh with Mother Jones is pointing out exactly where such a disgusting and baseless theory is gaining its steam.

And it all boils down to Tucker Carlson.

Oh writes in her scathing analysis:

But the most prominent espouser of the theory has arguablybeen Tucker Carlson. In a damning three-part series examining Carlson’s outsized role in stoking white supremacist fears, the New York Times recently found that Carlson has long pushed the false conspiracy theory that Democrats were carrying out an elaborate mission to bring “more obedient voters from the third world” in order to replace the current electorate and win elections. Carlson has even defended the theory’s role in motivating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol building.

Carlson is sure to receive fresh scrutiny in the wake of the Buffalo tragedy. Of course, none of this will prompt any meaningful punishment for the Fox News host. After all, embracing Carlson’s white supremacist views is now the bread and butter for the rest of the GOP.”

Look, we all know where this is coming from. People from the Republican Party know exactly where this is coming from. It’s up to us to bring it to an end before it’s officially too far gone.
