It’s been a chaotic and alarming day after Donald Trump encouraged his supporters that were protesting against the election results to go to the Capitol. They did as the outgoing president requested, and it resulted in violence. The takeover of the U.S. Capitol occurred on Wednesday as the United States Congress convened on the Hill to count and certify the 2020 presidential election votes in what was supposed to be a ceremonial procedure for President-elect Joe Biden. What we got instead of a peaceful transition of power was a president that displayed a thirst to cling to power, and while seeing there’s no way to accomplish that, Trump is willing to burn the country to the ground on his way out.
According to CBS News’s Ed O’Keefe, “Trump Cabinet secretaries are discussing invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump. Nothing formal yet presented to VP Pence.”

It’s a bit late for them to try to get the Trump-stink off of them. Everyone in Trump’s orbit knows he is mentally unstable. Trump is a raging malignant narcissist that sustained a massive injury to his ego. Instead of keeping us safe — which is literally his job — Trump put his ego ahead of this country’s well-being. But, with more resignations coming, the isolated outgoing president might realize that he doesn’t have support. Unless he wants to go to Parler, that is. What a toxic legacy this administration is leaving behind.
