In case you found yourself wondering, for whatever reason, what it is that the Conservative crowd has their knickers in a twist over now (because we all know they’re always up in arms about one thing or another) allow me to enlighten you on this absolute dumpster fire of ridiculousness.

The Independent has reported that President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will be hosting their granddaughter’s wedding reception at the White House towards the end of this year.

28-year-old Naomi Biden, the oldest of the Bidens’ grandchildren and daughter of Hunter Biden and Kathleen Buhle, got engaged to her fiance, 24-year-old Peter Neal, in September of 2021.

As it stands, the reception is scheduled to be held at the Biden White House on November 19th of this year. Thus far, it is unclear where the actual wedding ceremony will take place.

Speaking with CNN, First Lady Jill Biden’s communications director said, “The first family, the couple, and their parents are still in the planning stages of all the wedding festivities and look forward to announcing further details in the coming months.”

Naomi Biden herself had this to say in a recent tweet:

Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House. We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead.”

Naomi works as an attorney in Washington D.C. while her soon-to-be husband Peter is completing his final year of law school at the University of Pennsylvania. The sweet pair have reportedly been together for around 4 years, after first meeting on a date in New York City that was set up by a friend.

Now, this is far from the first time a wedding reception or even a full wedding ceremony has taken place at the White House. The precedent for the celebration of nuptials at the People’s House has a long history, with former presidents utilizing the White House for the weddings of their children and grandchildren for many, many years — including the children of James Monroe, John Adams, John Tyler, Ulysses Grant, Richard Nixon, and two daughters and a niece of Woodrow Wilson.

Lyndon B. Johnson’s daughter Lynda Bird Johnson was married in the East Room in 1967 and his daughter Luci held her wedding reception at the White House following a church ceremony. The most recent presidential family to utilize the White House for their celebrations was none other than Republican George W. Bush, whose daughter Jenna Bush was married at the family’s Texas ranch, but held their reception at the White House in 2008.

But has any of that done a damn thing to staunch the Conservative outrage? I’ll let you answer that for yourself:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is truly nothing these people won’t pitch a fit over, just for the sake of pitching a fit.
