This is beyond disturbing.

15-year-old Ethan Crumbley opened fire at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan, on the 30th of November. He shot and killed four of his fellow students and injured an additional 6 and one Oxford High teacher. He is a mass murderer and should spend the rest of his breathing, earthly life paying for those crimes.

But Ethan isn’t the only person who should be held accountable for this catastrophic tragedy.

In a rather unprecedented move for a situation such as this, Michigan District Attorney Dana Nessel, along with Oakland County prosecutors, have made moves to ensure that everyone who is responsible for the tragic, fatal shooting is held accountable for their role — including Oxford High School officials and Ethan’s own parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley.

And it’s not been difficult to prove their point.

We recently reported that Ethan’s parents had been called to the school just hours before their teenage son opened fire on his classmates and teachers after school officials discovered very disturbing drawings and messages scrawled on a piece of Ethan’s math homework. While we reported on the drawings’ existence when the news first came out, the Daily Mail has now obtained and released actual photos of them, for the very first time, in a new report.

“My life is useless,” one of the messages on the sheet of math homework reads, accompanied by a drawing of a gun. “Blood everywhere” and “thoughts won’t stop, help me” were also scrawled on the paper.

At the time, Ethan attempted to claim to school officials as well as his parents that the images and messages were from a video game after a teacher noticed the disturbing content, took a photo, and got in touch with the school counselor, who then reached out to Jennifer and James.

Prosecutors are calling the drawings and the Crumbley parents’ lack of a decent response to it yet another sign in part of a larger pattern showing that Ethan’s parents were negligent and blatantly ignored the signals that their son was in desperate need of help long before the shooting took place.

Prosecutors say Jennifer and James “failed to take even the simplest actions that would have prevented the massacre’ in court documents.” They also note that the parents gifted Ethan the very handgun he used to open fire on his school as an early Christmas present, just days before the shooting.

They go on to note that the parents “knew their son was depressed, that he was fascinated with guns… that he had been researching ammunition while at a school and that he was seen watching violent videos of shootings that morning,” but chose to purchase the firearm as an early Christmas gift for their teenage son anyway.

“All they had to do was tell the school that they had recently purchased a gun for their son, asked him where the gun was, opened his backpack, or just take him home,” prosecutors said. “Defendants were in a better position than anyone else in the world to prevent this tragedy, but they failed to do so.”

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said there was an additional version of the photo in the filing, where Ethan had allegedly crossed out the disturbing messages he’d written and replaced them with things like “video game this is,” “we’re all friends here,” harmless act,” “I love my life so much!!!!” and “OHS rocks!”
