Deutsche Bank Reportedly Looking For Ways To End Its Relationship With Trump, Tired Of Negative Publicity Stemming From Ties To The President

Recently, the New York Times broke a bombshell report that ultimately exposed Donald Trump for the financial fraud he truly is. Now, it’s hard to say whether the two things are connected in any way, but since the news broke, it seems that many of Trump’s business dealings have begun to fall apart. I suppose maybe they don’t want to be associated with the guy who paid less in taxes than I do my house payment every month.

But this… This we never quite expected.

According to a new report, Deutsche Bank is tired of Donald Trump — and they’re searching for a way out.

The report claims that the infamous German bank is looking for ways to cut their ties with the current President of the United States as soon as the election is over because they’re growing tired of the constant negative publicity they’re receiving as a result of the connection, says three senior officials within the bank who have direct knowledge on the situation.

Altogether, the German bank has around $340 million (262.9 million pounds) in outstanding loans with the Trump Organization, revealed by filings made by Donald Trump to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics back in July as well as information from a senior source with the bank.

Officials have recently revealed that the foreign bank’s management committee, tasked with protecting from reputational risks, has been discussing ways to disconnect themselves from Donald Trump.

HuffPost reports on one idea:

Sell the loans in the secondary market, two of the bank officials said. But one of the officials said that idea has not gained traction, in part because it is not clear who would want to buy the loans and the attendant problems that come with it.”

We’ve known for some time that the German bank has been bringing their relationship with Donald Trump under close scrutiny. But this is the first instance of reporting that they’re looking for ways to cut ties with him altogether.

The White House, Deutsche Bank, and the Trump Organization have all either declined or not responded to requests for comments.
