It seems yet another belligerent, bigoted airline passenger is getting their just desserts. A new report from the Daily Beast reveals that first-class Delta passenger Christopher Alexander Morgan was arrested as soon as he get off his flight at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport after he allegedly verbally and physically assaulted a flight attendant on the trip, using homophobic, anti-gay slurs and throwing an on-flight phone and a glass of ice at the airline employee.

According to the report, Morgan called the Delta employee a “f*g” and a “queer,” with the Beast citing an affidavit saying Morgan claimed, “the flight attendant was homosexual and that this made him uncomfortable.” The document also says Morgan admitted becoming angry at being denied another drink.

The incident that resulted in the first-class passenger’s arrest inside the airport took place on April 22nd and he now faces criminal charges of interference with flight crew members or attendants, which can carry a punishment of up to 20 years in prison if he is ultimately convicted of his crimes.

The report claims Morgan “reclined his seat all the way back and refused to put on his seatbelt” upon takeoff and later went on to order an alcoholic drink. When he requested a second drink, the flight attendant “angered” him by suggesting he get something non-alcoholic.

“Morgan said that he is homophobic and that it is possible he could have been intimidating to the flight attendants,” the affidavit state in conclusion. “He said that his homophobia may have caused his temper towards the flight attendant to escalate and he admitted that he called H.D. a queer.”

The airline passenger has denied the physical assault portion of the allegations against him.

“Another flight attendant guarded the cockpit door for the remainder of the flight, ‘out of security concerns for the flight crew,’ says the affidavit,” the Beast reports.

Is it just me, or is this becoming a trend?
