Donald And Melania Trump Eat Alone At A “Roped Off Table” In The Center Of Mar-A-Lago Restaurant, According To A New Book

Why does this not surprise me?

Despite the fact that Donald Trump brutally lost the 2020 presidential election and left the White House in a cloud of shame, disappointment, and lies, it seems the ex-president and his third wife still want to make sure everyone knows they’re important people.

According to the upcoming book from journalist Michael Wolff, Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency, Donald and Melania Trump almost always eat alone at a “roped-off table” smack dab in the center of a Mar-a-Lago patio restaurant — that is, when the former First Lady is actually there.

In an excerpt of the tell-all book, Wolff writes that the ex-First Could are “looked at, somewhat, like zoo animals. No, no, that’s not right. They are like a newly married couple: every night is a wedding at which they spend their dinner greeting friends and wellwishers.”

Of course, the Trumps lived at Donald’s Florida Mar-a-Lago resort after being kicked out of the White House by the American people after only one, embarrassing term as president and a brutally failed attempt at a second. Though he reportedly temporarily moved to his New Jersey club while it closed down for the hot Florida summer, the ex-president tends to fill his days with visits from GOP senators and members of Congress who are chasing down his endorsement as the 2022 election looms.

According to Wolff, Trump eats his dinner on the patio most evenings, making sure to arrive just as the restaurant has filled so he gets the most bang for his buck out of his entrance, “at which point everyone stands and applauds.”

However, per Wolff’s account of things in the upcoming opus, the question of Melania’s presence at her husband’s club is still up for debate. While she’s certainly been spotted dining with her husband like zoo animals since departing the White House, it seems people wonder if she’s actually living there with Donald.

“For four years in the White House, it was never quite clear how much time she was spending at the White House or in a house in Maryland where she had settled her parents,” Wolff writes in the book. “Aides were careful not to closely inquire or openly wonder. Here too, in Mar-a-Lago, it was unclear.”

Of course, no one will soon forget the waves Mel made in the media at the start of her husband’s presidential term, when she delayed moving into the White House with him in an effort to allow their minor son Barron to finish out his school year in New York — a move that reportedly cost a staggering $27 million in security.

Since departing the White House, Melania has seemingly been even more reclusive, only recently being spotted for the first time in months.

However, despite her apparent reluctance to get back into the political limelight, it does seem as though Melania isn’t mad at the attention she gets at her husband’s club, one of the only places the pair can guarantee they’re still admired.

“The only membership qualification now, beyond the actual cost ($250,000, up from $150,000 before the presidency, plus a hefty yearly fee), is to be an abject Trump admirer,” Wolff reveals. “This may not be so much a political statement as an aesthetic one — the thrall of a super-celebrity.”
