Former President Donald Trump didn’t take Facebook’s decision on Friday very well, extending his ban for at least two years. Facebook announced that it is suspending the twice-impeached one-term president until Jan. 7, 2023, a full two years after being first barred from the platform. After that date, the behemoth social site will evaluate whether there is still a “risk to public safety” of restoring Trump’s account.

“Given the gravity of the circumstances that led to Mr. Trump’s suspension, we believe his actions constituted a severe violation of our rules which merit the highest penalty available under the new enforcement protocols,” Facebook announced on its platform. “We are suspending his accounts for two years, effective from the date of the initial suspension on January 7 this year.”

Trump called the decision an “insult to the record-setting 75M people, plus many others, who voted for us in the Rigged Presidential Election.”

OK, first off, the number of people rounded off that voted for Trump is 74 million people, not 75. And by repeating his Big Lie of a rigged election, it validates Facebook’s decision to ban him because that sort of rhetoric resulted in the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection.

“Our country can’t take this abuse anymore,” Trump added.

Twitter users piled in.

This is Donald J. Trump’s fault, but of course, he’s feigning to be a victim again. Trump whipped up an angry mob and got them to march to the Capitol, promising his supporters that he would march with them. But, of course, he did not march with them, and his supporters have failed to realize that they were played.
