Donald Trump Thought So Highly Of Himself That He Reportedly Believed George Washington And Abraham Lincoldn Would Have Had A Hard Time Beating Him If They Ran Against Him For President

Oh, good grief.

There are a variety of ways in which I could describe disgraced ex-president Donald Trump — none of which are flattering for the guy — including racist, sexist, bigoted, xenophobic, hate-filled and hateful, narcissistic, the list goes on and on and on. But if there’s any one work that truly epitomizes Donald J. Trump, it’s egotistical.

The man is so full of himself he’d make psychology researches the lab rat of their dreams.

Quite literally, the man thinks he’s God’s gift to the entire universe — he can do no wrong, he can say no wrong, and everything he does, every decision he makes is fined tuned to perfection with zero room for even the slightest of criticism — which makes this new revelation less than surprising.

Recently, The Guardian wrote up an extensive review of the new book from Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker, I Alone Can Fix It, and tell of the time that Trump thought so very highly of himself that he told reporters he honestly believed he could beat a George Washington and Abraham Lincoln ticket if they somehow reanimated and ran for president in 2020.

“I think it would be hard if George Washington came back from the dead and he chose Abraham Lincoln as his vice-president, I think it would have been very hard for them to beat me,” Trump said at the time, according to the review from The Guardian.

Of course, in reality, all the confidence and cockiness in the world couldn’t save Donald Trump as he suffered a pretty humiliating loss to now-President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. In both 2016 and 2020 Trump lost the popular vote to his Democratic opponents, and lost the Electoral vote to Joe Biden this past November by 74 votes.

He couldn’t even beat the guy he was actually running against, much less someone back from the dead. But whatever you need to tell yourself, buddy. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
