According to new reporting from TMZ, one of Elon Musk’s children is officially fed up with their Tesla CEO and Twitter -owner-wannabe dad and has now filed to have their name officially changed, not just to legally confirm and declare her gender, but to distance herself from her controversial father as much as humanly possible.

Elon’s child, whose birth name was Xavier Musk, has now filed official documents in an L.A. court, after turning 18 in April, looking to officially and legally change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson.

Vivian notes in the documents that she wants to change her name, in part, to legally confirm and declare her gender as female. However, it seems that’s not the only reason she’s looking for a full and complete name change with the court. In the documents, Vivian lists her reasons for the desired name change as “Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

As noted by TMZ, neither Elon or Vivian have been publicly vocal about their relationship or Vivian’s gender transition. However, Vivian’s father has publicly shown little more than backhanded support, at best, for the trans community through his social media accounts. Back in December of 2020, Musk wrote on Twitter, “I support trans” before going on in the same tweet to rail against pronouns as an “esthetic nightmare.”

A July 2020 tweet saw the Tesla CEO simply declaring, “Pronouns suck.”

Vivian has a twin brother named Griffin and the Wilson last name she has chosen appears to come from her mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson. Justine was married to Musk from 2000 to 2008.
