At nearly 1:00 in the morning, Donald Trump unleashed a tweet to suggest that votes cannot be cast after the polls have closed. The problem with that is that ballots are still being counted that have already been cast. Trump said that Democrats are trying to “STEAL the Election” by counting votes. The president also falsely claimed victory last night. The president does not decide the election, though — the voters do.
Trump’s tweet was so egregiously false that Twitter labeled it as “misleading about an election.” So, of course, Eric Trump took a screen capture of his father’s tweet and posted it while claiming that Twitter is “censoring” the president. That word doesn’t mean what he thinks it means.

That’s not how elections work, and Twitter users jumped in to address the president’s astoundingly stupid son’s tweet.
They are counting legitimate votes. That’s what democracy is!

All votes will be counted, isn’t that awesome?

They haven’t even done mail in ballots in some states.

They have the right to censor misinformation…

All of this:
He’s celebrating a win he hasn’t won, pissed coz there are more votes to be counted, ONLY because mail was slowed down by the PMG HE hired. Which resulted in longer lines, late delivered postal votes, slowed and delayed counting! O is this poetic justice. It all backfired on him

Counting ballots is not voting, every vote should be counted. The people have voted and the people deserve the time it takes to process all the ballots.

Of course ballots can’t be cast after the polls close. But, anything mailed in before election day damn well better be counted

Trump falsely claiming victory last night was just another attack on our democracy by the president. Votes will be counted. Democratic nominee Joe Biden just pulled ahead in Michigan. My thought is that Biden will prevail, but it shouldn’t be this close. And Trump will continue to sow doubt and discord over the election. Our country is broken.
