A bombshell new documentary is making waves in the media cycle, as the tell-all film takes a deep, exploratory dive into the hidden private life of the notorious evangelical Christian leader Jerry Falwell Jr., and the infamous sex scandal that led to Falwell’s fall and demise — including a particularly close look at former Trump attorney and so-called “fixer” Michael Cohen’s key role in brokering a deal that served to help Falwell worm his way out of a serious blackmail scheme and ended in the evangelical leader ultimately giving Donald Trump his crucial endorsement.
“God Forbid: The Sex Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty,” a new documentary film directed by Billy Corben (“Cocaine Cowboys”) and produced by Adam McKay (“The Big Short”), sees an explicit recounting of Giancarlo Granda’s own, explicit story — the infamous, one-time pool boy who carried on a torrid sexual relationship with Becki Falwell, Jerry’s wife, allegedly with her husband’s full and enthusiastic blessing, according to reporting from the Daily Beast.
In the film, Granda says:
If I would’ve known that accepting this woman’s invitation to go back to her hotel room would’ve led to a scandal involving the president of the largest Christian university in the world and the president of the United States. I would have walked away and just enjoyed my private life.”

Becki and Granda met back in 2012, when Granda was just 20-years-old. The former pool boy says that he began to engage in sex with Mrs. Falwell immediately, while her husband watched, and would eventually join in. It wasn’t long before the Falwell’s secured a $4.65 million hostel in Miami that Granda ran as co-owner of the business, and soon thereafter, they introduced him to then-future Donald J. Trump.
Fast forward to 2015, and Granda and the Falwells found themselves blackmailed by two Miami real estate conmen who were involved in the original deal on the hostel. The crooks attempted to blackmail the evangelical couple and their elicit lover with sexually explicit photos of the three engaged in sex acts. And lo and behold… It was none other than notorious former Trump “fixer” Michael Cohen who found himself enlisted by Falwell, then-president of evangelical Liberty University, to clean up his mess and get rid of the pool boy by buying him out of the hostel business they shared with Granda.
“They told me, Michael Cohen approached me and Donald Trump is going to run for president, and they want my endorsement,” Granda says in the documentary film. “If Jerry was going to get more involved with politicians just like his dad did, he had to ensure that all his loose ends were tied.”
Once Cohen had successfully cleaned up his mess, Falwell gave Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign his full and enthusiastic endorsement, as a pillar of the evangelical Christian community. This had a domino effect, as other notable evangelicals began to rally around the former business conman turned presidential hopeful. Granda, who remains a Republicans and was once a devout supporter of Trump, says he now regrets taking money from the Falwells in exchange for his silence on their scandalous relationship.
“I felt guilty,” Granda said. “I’m like, I know the truth about Jerry. He’s trying to appear like this strongman, but I know him as the cuck in the corner of the room.”
