First Minister Of Scotland Warns Trump Coming To Play Golf Is Not Essential Travel, Hopes The Only Plans “He Has Are To Exit The White House”

Bummer.

We’re at this weird part in the season finale of the Trump presidency where it’s been speculated that Donald might hightail it out of the country just before Joe Biden’s inauguration. The rumor is that Scotland is the outgoing president’s destination where, according to a newspaper, aviation sources at an airport in Prestwick, which is close by to Trump’s Turnberry resort, a US military plane, a Boeing 757 that’s previously been used by Trump on past trips overseas, is scheduled to arrive on January 19th. Now, whether that’s true or not remains to be seen, but Donald Trump just sustained a massive narcissistic injury, so anything is possible.

First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon addressed that topic at a coronavirus briefing, The Scotsman reports. And imagine that: a world leader is holding daily coronavirus briefings. It would be nice to have that here in the United States.

According to the news outlet, Sturgeon said that she “has no idea what Donald Trump’s travel plans are” and the site added that she “she hopes that the only immediate plans he has are to exit the White House.”

She added, “We are not allowing people to come into Scotland, without any central purpose right now, and that would apply to him just as it applies to anybody else and coming in to play golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose.”

Deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere told Fox News: “Anonymous sources who claim to know what the President is or is not considering have no idea.”

“When President Trump has an announcement about his plans for January 20, he will let you know,” he added.

Interestingly, Deere didn’t come out and just say that the speculation is wrong and that Trump will remain in the U.S. instead of running away from President-elect’s inauguration. Biden went to Trump’s inauguration. So did former President Barack Obama. But, Trump is a classless buffoon that can’t accept defeat. The Scottish really don’t like Mr. Trump, who is a vastly unpopular man. Trump could retreat to his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, but even there, his popularity is waning with some of his neighbors. At any rate, Sturgeon is not going to let Trump play games amid the raging pandemic in Scotland.
