Trump-loving Florida governor Ron DeSantis, who slowly seems to be edging out the former president among the GOP, has recently started selling new merchandise on his campaign website that takes aim at one of the nation’s top infectious disease specialists, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and other coronavirus restrictions and precautions, despite the fact that cases of the potentially deadly virus are still very much on the rise in his state.

As reported on by The Hill, if you were to head on over to DeSantis’ campaign website, you would find drink koozies and shirts stamped with the slogan, “Don’t Fauci My Florida,” as well as flags that bear a striking resemblance to former President Trump’s, saying, “Keep Florida Free.”

The merchandise certainly pays homage to the governor’s attitude throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic, as he skirted guidelines and went directly against Dr. Fauci’s expert recommendations when he lifted the very few restrictions in place in the state of Florida as early as he could get away with.

“How the hell am I going to be able to drink a beer with a mask on?” one of the drink koozies featured on Ron’s campaign page reads.

To say the very least, the Republican governor was promptly taken to the woodshed by Americans with a shred of common sense on Twitter:

Boy, that was in bad taste, Ron. Very bad taste.
