Former DOJ Prosecutor Claims GOP Rep May Be Guilty Of Federal Crime After Meeting In Ukraine: “Really Bad News For Devin Nunes”

He could soon find himself in just as much trouble as Trump.

Trump’s GOP has effectively made things a whole lot worse for not only the president but for themselves, as well.

Throughout the recent public impeachment hearings, essentially every Republican member of the House Intelligence Committee has made a complete fool out of themselves at one point or another by harping on debunked, right-wing conspiracy theories and launching baseless, shameful smear attacks against the witnesses testifying rather than asking legitimate questions that even remotely relate to the situation at hand.

But thanks to a few extra-diligent Democratic members of the Committee, their behavior hasn’t been the only thing to leave them worthy of hanging their heads in shame.

During the last public impeachment hearing, in which Fiona Hill gave her testimony, Dem lawmaker Eric Swalwell read into the record a report that deeply implicated GOP Rep. Devin Nunes in the deeply-spread Ukraine scandal that started this whole impeachment ordeal to begin with — revealing that Nunes had conducted a meeting with former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin in connection with Trump’s scandal.

If you were watching the hearing, you could see by the look on Nunes’ face that this bombshell revelation was not a good thing for him.

But in a segment on CNN, former federal prosecutor Elie Honig explained what this new finding could potentially mean for the ranking member on the Intelligence Committee.

“So as relates to, let’s say now if true, what does this portend for the question of the day? The potential impeachment of the president?” CNN anchor Victor Blackwell asked Honig. “Is this just an interesting element, or could this go to the question of, has the president committed impeachable offenses?”

“Well, it goes to the broader atmosphere,” Honig responded. “I don’t think it directly hits at Donald Trump. Certainly directly hits at Devin Nunes. Really bad news for Devin Nunes.”

“The sheer hypocrisy that he has shown up on his high horse over the last couple weeks, preaching what’s right and wrong and conspiracy theories, turns out, according to Parnas, he was trying to do the exact same thing that’s on trial here,” the former DOJ prosecutor continued. “Devin Nunes, according to this report, was meeting with a corrupt prosecutor, somebody everything who knows this area says was corrupt … trying to dig up dirt on Joe Biden. It’s arguably a crime, a federal crime for a person to try to solicit something of value to a political campaign from a foreign national.”

It seems that, whether it’s directly purposeful or through his sheer demand of unfaltering loyalty, Donald Trump is bound and determined to take down that entire party with him.
