Former Pentagon Chief Slammed Ex-President Trump So Brutally, There’s No Coming Back From It: “He Believes He Has Putin-Esque Like Powers”

This is disturbing.

Yet another new tell-all book has hit the shelves and it looks like it’s not set to be any more flattering of the former guy than all the rest of them, as former Trump-era Defense Chief Mark Esper’s forthcoming book, A Sacred Oath: Memoirs of a Defense Secretary in Extraordinary Times, has now been released, and in the days leading up to its publishing, publications began to cover excerpts of the information contained in its pages.

Recently, we reported on an excerpt revealing that then-President Donald Trump became extremely irate and spewed profanities at his Vice President Mike Pence and others in the room (including Esper) after military leaders refused to go along with his suggestion to “shoot protesters “in the leg or something” following the brutal police murder of George Floyd.”

Now, additional excerpts of the former Trump official’s upcoming book have revealed that Donald Trump allegedly wanted to launch a missile attack against Mexico, across the US southern border, and then pretty much pretend like the US wasn’t responsible for it.

But what’s even worse is Former Defense Secretary Bill Cohen made an appearance on MSNBC, following the news, and said that this claim doesn’t surprise him in the slightest.

“I must say I’m not surprised,” Cohen said of Esper’s allegation that Trump wanted to bomb Mexico. “We saw evidence of this, that former President Trump has no respect for the rule of law. He believes he has Putin-esque like powers.”

He went on to add, after citing what he claimed were “high-level sources,” that one of Trump’s advisors had told the president that what he wanted to do was illegal. And he said, ‘So what?’ And the individual said, ‘Well, you could be prosecuted.” And he said, ‘By whom?'”

“So the attitude is I can do anything,” Cohen explained, “and I have absolute power. So this doesn’t surprise me, that he would even talk about this.”

The New York Times obtained excerpts of Esper’s, a former Pentagon head between July 2019 and November 2020, upcoming book, in which he claims Donald Trump fully believed that they could just pretend that the United States wasn’t the ones to fire the missile.

He writes in A Sacred Oath that Donald Trump asked about this plan not once, but twice, in 2020, questioning whether the US military could “shoot missiles into Mexico to destroy the drug labs.” The Times reports that Esper was left “speechless” over Donald Trump’s insistent requests.

Esper was dismissed from his position by Donald Trump in November 2020, just a few short days after the 2020 presidential election was officially called in Joe Biden’s favor.
