This makes PERFECT sense.

If I had to choose one former president of this country that I know in my heart is a good, decent, kind, and caring human being, it would without a doubt be former President Jimmy Carter. He is kind and just. He is transparent and caring. He is compassionate and fair. I honestly and truly don’t believe that he or his wife have a single bad bone in their body — metaphorically speaking, of course, I mean they are in their 90s.

Honest to God, if I had no choice but to choose a “favorite” former president, there honestly wouldn’t be any competition. And this right here just makes me love him even more.

Even in his advanced age, former POTUS Jimmy Carter continues to show this nation love and devotion through his work with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, and he and his wife work to stay up to date on the goings-on of the country they devoted their lives to. As such, it’s reported that the former first couple are loyal fans of the PBS “NewsHour” to help keep them up to date on US news, they said in a new interview last night.

Carter told “NewsHour” host Judy Woodruff that they watch the PBS news show “every night” as he discussed his and Rosalynn’s manner of staying up to date.

“We watch MSNBC and CNN pretty regularly,” he told Woodruff.

Former President Carter went on to add that they “don’t watch Fox presentations very much” and they don’t “really become involved” in social media. “So we have a fairly good balance of the news coverage.”

Jimmy, 96, and his wife and former First Ladt Rosalynn, 93, spoke with PBS from their Plains, Georgia, home as part of a wide-reaching interview for their upcoming 75th wedding anniversary on the 7th of July. Jimmy Carter holds the record as the longest-living United States president and he and his wife are now the longest-married First Couple in the history of the country.

The interview didn’t stop with the Carters’ news consumption habits, though. They also discussed the thoroughly debunked conspiracy theories hailing from the most recent ex-president regarding the 2020 presidential election.

“It’s known, quite accurately, as the big lie,” Carter said of Donald Trump’s baseless and dangerous claims. “And how he — how Trump — gets away with it is hard to comprehend.”

Rosalynn added that it’s “hard for me to know what was happening and then to hear what was being said about it.”

When asked if she ever would’ve dreamt that the Carter Center would be involved in monitoring elections in their home state, Rosalynn said, “No, I never thought we’d have to monitor elections in Georgia. I just assumed elections were accurate. I trusted our officials.”
