Former Republican Governor Fiercely Slams The GOP As “A Cult Of Loyalty To One Person”

She's not wrong.

Not all Republicans are dedicated to Donald Trump, like former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, who previously endorsed Joe Biden over the former president. Donald Trump does still have a surprisingly supportive base, but it appears to be withering. Still, most Republicans are still propping up the twice impeached one-term president even though he cost them the House, Senate, and the White House.

Whitman tore into House Republicans on Twitter, who are likely about to ouster Rep. Liz from her leadership role because the Wyoming Republican has been critical of Trump following the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection.

She said that Cheney is forcing the GOP to face what it has become.

“Facts don’t care about House Republicans’ feelings,” she tweeted out in a strongly-worded statement.

She wasn’t done.

She called her party, and she’s still a Republican, a “cult of loyalty to one person.”

She’s not wrong. Ever since Republicans put Donald Trump over the country’s best interests, their party became a cult.
