Fox Host Laura Ingraham Seemingly Tries To Get Dr. Fauci To Attack Biden, But It Doesn’t Go How She Planned

Maybe Dr. Fauci can treat you for that burn, Laura.

Our nation’s top infectious disease expert didn’t take the bait when appearing on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show as the host attempted to get Dr. Anthony Fauci to attack presumptive Democratic nominee, former Vice-President Joe Biden. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has brought our economy to the edge, attacking Biden was Ingraham’s primary concern, not informing the public on the coronavirus outbreak.

Biden has experience with handling a pandemic and an economic recovery, whereas Donald Trump walked into the highest office in the land with zero political experience. Remarkably, Fox News has featured the likes of Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil for their advice — both of whom seem to think that killing people is the way to go. So Fauci should have been a breath of fresh air on the network that has put so many lives at risk.

First, Fauci had to explain to Ingraham why we didn’t have a lockdown during the AIDS epidemic. Fauci is a very patient man for dealing with such profound stupidity in a calm manner.

Ingraham then tried to mislead Dr. Fauci with what Biden said during CNN’s town hall appearance about the pandemic, but that backfired when Fauci ultimately ended up agreeing with Biden. The Fox News host took a shot at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, too, because why not at this point.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls this plan of yours and the president’s vague and inconsistent, and this is what Joe Biden said about it just moments ago,” Ingraham said just before playing a few snippets of Biden’s remarks.

“I wouldn’t call it a plan, I think what he’s done is he’s kind of punted,” Biden said in the clip. “He’s decided that he’s doesn’t have the right to make the call for the country. This isn’t going to be over until we have a vaccine.”

Ingraham said, “Punted, you punted, all of you people working on this, and apparently he’s claiming that you didn’t listen to yourself since you are a scientist.”

NOTE: Actually, though, Biden was talking about Donald Trump, who did drop the ball, not Dr. Fauci, but OK. Nice editing job, Laura.

Fauci wasn’t sure what Ingraham was talking about.

“I don’t know what you mean by I didn’t listen to myself,” Dr. Fauci said, adding “You got to explain that to me, Laura. What does that mean?”

“He said they’re not listening to the scientists, they’re punting, and basically it’s not over until there’s a vaccine,” Ingraham falsely said. “So your response to Biden?”

“Well, there’s truth to that. It’s not going to be over to the point of our being able to not do any mitigation until we have a scientifically sound safe and effective vaccine,” Fauci said, in agreement with Biden.

Well, that didn’t work out well for Fox News. I guess they can trot out Dr. Oz again.
