What a fool.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is still the same pugnacious fool he’s always been where rules do not apply to him. Cruz reminds me of Sen. Rand Paul, who has revealed himself to be an anti-masker amid the raging pandemic on numerous occasions. The coronavirus has taken over 545,000 American lives, so putting on a simple protective face mask to limit the disease’s spread is apparently considered a Herculean task for some Republicans.

The Texas Republican appeared on Fox News with co-host Bill Hemmer asking Cruz about a recent confrontation with a reporter who asked him to wear a face mask. It’s important to note that we need to continue to wear a mask after being vaccinated. Experts are still learning about what the vaccines can do, and different variants are still emerging.

However, noted epidemiologist Ted Cruz insisted that he did not have to wear a mask because he has been vaccinated.

“That particular cameraman went and left, and he decided he didn’t want to be at the press conference,” Cruz said. “That’s fine. He’s welcome to make that choice. You know, at some point, it is a little silly.”

Cruz claims that reporters don’t object when Democrats speak at press conferences without wearing a face mask.

“It’s particularly absurd when every senator there has been vaccinated,” he continued to say. “At some point, it just becomes theater; it just becomes a virtue signal as people wear two, three, four masks. Listen, I’m not someone who says never wear a mask. I think you should use common sense, but people have gotten pretty crazy about this stuff.”

At the end of the interview, Dana Perino called Cruz out and explained to the Texas Republican why it was important for vaccinated people to continue wearing protective masks. And she only used one sentence to make her point.

“The CDC is still saying even if you’ve been vaccinated, you still could be a carrier, and then you could pass it on,” she said.

Watch:

This isn’t hard, you guys. It’s actually quite simple. But Republicans insist on stretching this pandemic out while the rest of us are following the CDC guidelines.
