As the coronavirus crisis continues to hammer down on this nation, killing people by the thousands and completely upheaving life as we know it, multiple reports have indicated over the last few weeks that Trump and the federal government are making an extremely nasty habit out of seizing orders of supplies to combat the virus from local governments and commandeering it for the federal government’s own stockpile.
The fact that Trump’s federal government is literally stealing from local governments is bad enough in itself. But the fact that they’re stealing from local governments in the middle of an actual pandemic when supplies are already terrifyingly scarce is truly a new low, even for the likes of Donald Trump.
And according to a new report, it has forced even GOP governors to go to drastic lengths to protect their supplies from the president’s greedy grasp.
Today, Maryland Republican Governor Larry Hogan spoke with Washington Post reporter Robert Costa and admitted that he has had to hide his state’s coronavirus testing kits in an “undisclosed location” to prevent Trump from finding and taking them.

During the interview, Hogan explained that he was only able to acquire the COVID-19 tests through a complicated smuggling process from South Korea that took a lot of work and nearly a month to pull off successfully.
The GOP governor went on to explain that to make the process successful in the end, it was imperative that the plane carrying the precious cargo ultimately landed at Baltimore/Washington International Airport rather than Dulles International Airport in an effort to cut back on the chances of the plane’s cargo being seized by Trump’s federal government as much as possible.
He went on to admit that he even went so far as to call in the Maryland National Guard to closely monitor the shipment of coronavirus testing kits when they arrived at the airport.
“Is the National Guard in Maryland still protecting those tests?” Costa questioned the governor.
“They are!” Hogan answered. “The National Guard and the state police are both guarding these tests at an undisclosed location.”
You know it’s bad when a member of Trump’s own party has to hide and smuggle supplies to avoid them being stolen by the president.
