GOP Sen. Marco Rubio Obviously Has No Idea How The Law Works, Says Trump Moving White House Records To Mar-A-Lago Resort Is “Not A Crime, I Don’t Believe”

The Presidential Records Act is a federal law that “Establishes public ownership of all Presidential records and defines the term Presidential records.” This federal law asserts that “The United States shall reserve and retain complete ownership, possession, and control of Presidential records; and such records shall be administered in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.”

Apparently, while Donald Trump just doesn’t care about that law any more than he cares about the rest of them, it seems that GOP Senator Marco Rubio has just altogether forgotten that it even exists.

Last month, former President Trump was busted by the National Archives and Records Administration after they were forced to retrieve 15 boxes of official White House documents from his Mar-a-Lago resort, that the one-term, twice-impeached president apparently took with him when he made the big move. It was later reported, of course, that many of these boxes and documents were clearly labeled as highly confidential, top-secret documents.

The National Archives also admitted that many of the documents they have handed over to the January 6th House Select Committee had previously been taped back together by former Trump aides after the unhinged ex-president ripped them to pieces. This is all in addition to the newest revelations claiming Donald Trump even went so far as to try to flush official documents down the White House toilet, leaving it clogged with wads of paper.

But even with all of that being said, apparently, Marco Rubio just doesn’t think it’s that big a deal. Hell, he doesn’t even think it’s against the law.

Speaking on Fox News’ Special Report with Brett Baier, Rubio was asked why Republicans aren’t expressing the same outrage about Donald Trump’s blatant destruction of official documents as they did when it was revealed that Hillary Clinton used a private email server while working in the White House.

“Well, first of all, I don’t know what’s true and what’s not because they’ve made up so many stories about Donald Trump over the years that, I mean, things that I just knew were flat out untrue,” Rubio kicked off his hypocritical defense.

He went on to claim that the situation with Hillary’s emails was different because it was handled by the federal government and wasn’t made public by the media.

“Nowadays, in the mainstream media, you just need one source to smear Donald Trump, and maybe you don’t even need that. So it’s hard to tell anymore what really happened and what didn’t. The documents that were in Mar-a-Lago by all accounts were turned over,” he stated. “Look, if the process wasn’t followed there, then that there needs to be something that happens about that. It’s not a crime, I don’t believe, but the stuff about flushing paper down the toilet — who knows if that’s even true?”

He went on to assert that he’s seen “at least a dozen things” published in the media and tell-all books about ex-President Trump that he claims to know were not true.

But the situation surrounding Trump’s official documents was so serious that the National Archives went so far as to refer their discovery to the Department of Justice.

But okay, buddy. Go off.
