House Republicans seem to be a tad bit worried today over the private testimony of Laura Cooper, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia. By “tad bit worried,” we mean they stormed the closed-door hearing.
Republicans should be concerned. On Tuesday, William Taylor, a former Army officer, and State Department official, spoke truth to power as he kneecapped the “president” during his testimony.
“They crashed the party,” said Rep. Harley Rouda (D-Calif.), a member of the Oversight Committee, one of three House panels leading the impeachment probe, according to The Hill.
Dozens of Republicans stormed into the hearing — which is supposed to be secure — including some members of leadership. Even more concerning is that conservatives walked into the hearing with electronic devices and that is prohibited.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is consulting with the Sergeant of Arms and due to the GOP’s actions, Cooper’s testimony has been delayed.
The conservatives walked into hearing room with their electronics, Connolly said, which is prohibited in the room. Mike Conaway of Texas collected the electronics.
Laura Cooper testimony has been delayed because of the disruption; Schiff is consulting with the sergeant of arms.

The scene was chaotic.

Rep. Matt Gaetz appears to be behind this.
A list of important things about the Matt Gaetz crew storming the hearing:
1) The idiots took cameras into a SCIF.
2) My mentions are screwed up.
That’s it. That’s the list.

There are 12 Republicans missing from this photo because they are in the SCIF asking unlimited questions. https://t.co/S2VRvh3EoZ

No one ever accused Gaetz of being smart.
You’re tweeting from inside a SCIF? From an unsecured phone? https://t.co/hyow6j2E6M

Objectively speaking, Republicans violated the SCIF’s security rules and took a classified briefing hostage to demand access to which they’re not entitled.
The destruction of basic governance norms continues apace. https://t.co/d3CY2w5rYm

There are reportedly about 25 Republican lawmakers still in the room. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said the investigation has “far too much fact for their comfort level, so they have to try to stop it from moving forward.”
Republicans are not only trying to stall the testimony, but they are trying to intimidate a witness. Can I get a “Lock them up,” please? Thank you!
