Guest On Fox News Goes On Ridiculous Rant, Compares Biden Administration To The Taliban

Wouldn't it be nice if stupidity was painful?

Fox News is a dangerous network, especially amid the pandemic. According to a study, infection and mortality rates are higher in places where one Fox News host who initially downplayed the severity of the pandemic — Fox News’s Sean Hannity — reaches the largest audiences, the Washington Post reported. The network has guests that launch wild conspiracy theories over the spreading disease. The hosts aren’t much better as they literally fight against mask-wearing and other guidelines that are meant to keep Americans safe. The network launches attacks on our country’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci. It’s not a serious network.

So, of course, Charlie Hurt, the opinion editor of the right-leaning Washington Times newspaper, was a guest, and he went on to liken the Biden administration to the Taliban with former Obama State Department spokesperson Marie Harf sitting there in disbelief.

“When it comes to medical privacy, they’ve become like the Taliban, which is a real problem,” Hurt insisted.

“Whoa,” Harf said.

Hurt then falsely suggested that young people do not need to get vaccinated.

“The vaccine is important and it has its purposes, but, but, having an open discussion about how valuable this vaccine is and the dangers of the vaccine for younger people who don’t need it in the first place is very important,” he added.

Harf told Hunt that what he was saying was not “helpful,” and that’s putting it mildly.

This brings us back to the studies on right-wing media.

“We are receiving an incredible number of studies and solid data showing that consuming far-right media and social media content was strongly associated with low concern about the virus at the onset of the pandemic,” said Irene Pasquetto, chief editor of the Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review, which published one of the studies, according to the Post. And Hunt works for a far-right newspaper.
