Insider Claims Trump’s National Security Briefings Now Consist Of Mostly Pictures, Drawings And Simple Charts Because POTUS Won’t Read Any Text

Reading is HARD.

Donald Trump isn’t known to read a lot, or possibly at all. Narcissists tend to be more fascinated with their own lives than with those around them, and that’s a shame since he holds the highest seat in the land. Trump is supposed to represent all 329.45 million people in the U.S., and with that comes a metric fuckton of responsibility, such as reading the written intelligence briefing sent over to him daily. It was reported last year that privately, Trump frequently questions the integrity and judgment of the intelligence officials who are giving him secret information.

It’s like dealing with an undisciplined toddler who is in constant temper-tantrum mode and will never grow up to do his homework. While former President Barack Obama tweets out his favorite book list each year, Trump only promotes the written word if it’s in defense of his chaotic presidency.

NBC News analyst Harvey Fineman confirmed Trump’s distaste for reading on Twitter while tagging the illiterate president:

What an absolutely frightening thought that the leader of the free world — who has the attention span of a goldfish — is briefed with pictures and drawings since he refuses to read. That would likely explain why Trump laughably deems himself to be a stable genius. That way, he doesn’t have to read all those yucky words that will aid him in keeping our country safe.

In Michael Wolff’s book Fire and Fury, it quotes then-economic adviser Gary Cohn writing in an email: “It’s worse than you can imagine … Trump won’t read anything—not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers, nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored.”

We’re facing a potential pandemic with a president who likely prefers his security info passed along to him in the form of a pop-up book. The president thinks he can make it go away, though, by calling it the “new hoax.”
