Donald Trump has not enjoyed a healthy, friendly relationship with many of his fellow world leaders over the course of his presidential term. Over the past four years, many leaders around the globe have expressed their dislike and disdain for America’s biggest embarrassment. However, perhaps none have been as fiery and point-blank as that of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who recently issued a brutal takedown of the outgoing American commander-in-chief, labeling Donald Trump as “crazy” and suggesting that Trump may ultimately meet a similar fate to that of former Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein, who was executed in 2006.

Throughout Trump’s presidency, his administration has brought down an extreme, and rather cruel “maximum pressure” campaign over Iran, with the intent of crippling and dismantling the country’s economy and leave it completely isolated on an international level. Now that Donald’s days in the White House are coming to an end, with Joe Biden securing a win in the election and taking over such power in the matter of a few short weeks, Iranian officials are beginning to celebrate what they believe to be their victory over Trump’s cruel administration and an end to harsh policies and cruelty that has hailed from it.

Newsweek reports:

Trump and his team failed to force Tehran back to the negotiating table to make a new nuclear deal, having abandoned the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2017.

Sanctions, assassinations and military posturing have taken a serious toll on Tehran, but the regime there looks to have outlasted the Trump administration with just weeks of the president’s term remaining.

Rouhani said Wednesday that Trump will go down in history alongside Hussein, with whom Iran’s revolutionary theocratic regime waged a bloody war for much of the 1980s. The U.S. backed Hussein in the war—though largely wanted both sides to fail—which ultimately claimed some 600,000 lives.”

According to a report from the state-run Fars News Agency, Rouhani said, “The fate of U.S. President Donald Trump will not be better than Saddam Hussein.”

“We had two crazy creatures in history who imposed war on the people. One was Saddam and the other was Trump,” he stated. “Saddam imposed military war and Trump imposed economic war on us.”

“We were united during the war and defeated Saddam,” the Iranian president continued. “We also witnessed the day when that madman was executed.” Rouhani turned to Trump and stated, “We did not let this economic war reach its goal.”

It is the hope of Iranian leadership that incoming President-Elect Joe Biden will offer relief of the sanction as part of his effort to revive the JCPOA and re-engage with Tehran.
