It Seems Trump Is Done With Pence, Says He Would “Certainly” Consider Tapping Ron DeSantis As His Next Running Mate

Pence is so last week.

Yesterday, ex-President Donald Trump said he would very much consider tapping Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as his vice presidential running mate should he take another stab at the White House in 2024 — signaling that he truly is done with his former right-hand man after Pence didn’t play along well with Donald’s election fraud conspiracy theories.

Speaking on Fox Business yesterday morning, the former president referenced DeSantis’ 2018 race, saying, “Well, he’s a friend of mine. I endorsed Ron. And after I endorsed him, he took off like a rocket ship. He’s done a great job as governor.”

“A lot of people like that — I’m just saying what I read and what you read, they love that ticket,” Trump continued. “But certainly, Ron would be considered. He’s a great guy.”

While Trump has made several thinly-veiled hints at a third run for a second term in office since he departed the White House back in January, the former president has yet to officially announce any sort of candidacy. However, it seems that Donald is certainly pretty sure about one thing — if he does, he won’t be bringing Mike Pence along for the ride.

We reported this morning that apparently Donald Trump himself isn’t the only one finished with the former VP either. Apparently, Mike Pence recently gave a speech, but chances are you didn’t know anything about it — because POLITICO reports that not a single cable channel picked up Pence’s remarks. Actually, they say “Just a few dozen people at any given time watched him live on Facebook, including roughly 55 when the speech ended.”

It seems Trump has ensured that his rabidly loyal base has ostracized his former go-to guy, as well.

To make this whole situation a little funnier still, it wasn’t that long ago at all we reported that GOP megadonors had tapped themselves a new favorite for their party; and not only was it not Donald Trump… It was none other than Ron DeSantis. It almost seems as though Donnie is trying to ride Ron’s coattails to relevance.
