It’s Over: Mitch McConnell Officially Recognizes Joe Biden As President-Elect, Twitter Braces For Incoming Trump Tantrum

This is HUGE!

It has been six whole weeks since the presidential election in this country, that Democrat Joseph R. Biden ultimately won, fair and square, with more popular votes than any other presidential candidate in the history of the United States.

We are just five weeks away from President-Elect Biden’s inauguration. And yet, here we are, still rolling our eyes with exasperation as Trump and many of his people continue to refuse to accept the fact that he lost. Bigly.

Trump has been fighting the results of this election since before all the votes were even counted — with cries to stop the count and keep counting based on whether or not he was winning the area, multiple lawsuits that have repeatedly blown up in his face, ridiculous press conferences, recounts that only served to help his opponent, and SOOO many tweets.

For the first several weeks, many of Trump’s cronies followed suit with his ridiculous claims of voter fraud and an illegitimate Biden win — most likely because they were terrified of what would happen should Trump actually pull this thing off and secure himself another term despite the results of the election. However, it’s been weeks now, every effort put forth by Donald Trump and his team has been a complete failure, and it’s time to move the hell on.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen everyone from former adviser Kellyanne Conway to now-outgoing Attorney General Bill Barr roll over and admit that Joe Biden won this thing. It was a step in the right direction, but it wasn’t what we truly needed to move forward.

But now… Now it’s over folks.

Today, Mitch McConnell, who is currently holding onto his Senate Majority Leader position by the skin of his teeth, took to the Senate floor and publicly acknowledged Joe Biden as president-elect and Kamala Harris as vice-president-elect.

“Our country has officially a President-elect and a Vice President-elect… The Electoral College has spoken,” Mitch said.

While he seemed to do so a bit begrudgingly, this is a huge development and step in the right direction for healing this nation. While we’re all glad to see Mitch spew some common sense for once in his life, many social media users couldn’t help but brace themselves for the inevitable Twitter tantrum that will soon be hailing from the guy who got fired from the White House:

Just a head’s up Donnie, you can’t fire a Senator.
