The House Select Committee investigating what took place on January 6 when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol want to talk to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH). In the letter, the committee explains that they want to know about Jordan’s communications with former President Donald Trump on the 5th or 6th.

“We understand that you had at least one and possibly multiple communications with President Trump on January 6,” the letter states. “We would like to discuss each such communication with you in detail. And we also wish to inquire about any communications you had on January 5th or 6th with those in the Willard War Room, the Trump legal team, White House personnel, or others involved in organizing or planning the actions and strategies for January 6.”

The Ohio Republican can’t seem to keep his story straight as to when he spoke to the former president. It’s not something a person forgets.

The Committee letter explains that they also want information involving any discussions of presidential pardons with anyone that planned the rally.

“We would also like to ask you about any discussions involving the possibility of presidential pardons for individuals involved in any aspect of January 6 or the planning for January 6,” the committee states. “When you were asked during a Rules Committee hearing on October 20, 2021, whether you would be willing to share with the Select Committee the information you have regarding January 6 and events leading up to the day, you responded, ‘I’ve said all along, ‘I have nothing to hide.’ I’ve been straightforward all along.”

You can read the letter below.

As we reported, in October, Jordan said that he did not speak to Trump during the attack even though he had previously said that he did. The Ohio Republican has been changing his story since July. In July, Jordan told Fox News’s Bret Baier that he and Trump had spoken but changed the subject quickly when asked what they had discussed. Also, in July, Jordan claimed that he’s been “clear about” when he spoke with Trump. Jordan told Politico in August that he had “definitely” spoken to the former president more than once that day, but he couldn’t remember when and added that one of those calls was from a safe room during the attack.

That’s just not normal behavior.
