Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki absolutely laid waste to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and his Republican party as a whole today, in response to the House GOP leader’s recent criticism and attack against President Biden’s efforts to help Ukraine, lambasting the president for not sending more weapons to the country, and sooner, as they continue to wade through Vladimir Putin’s ongoing and devastating war.
Not only did Paski rip this argument to brutal shreds, she pointedly reminded absolutely every one of why the president’s predecessor got impeached in the House… The first time.
“Well, first, just for fact’s sake: we sent a record amount of security assistance to Ukraine in President Biden’s first year in office,” Psaki shot in response. “More than any other president in history and we shared a significant amount of intelligence with Ukraine about Russia’s intentions and movements.”
But Jen, in her true fiery Psaki passion, didn’t leave it at that. Not even close. She quickly used the opportunity to turn the tables on the Republican party as a whole and jogged everyone’s memory with regard to Donald Trump’s “perfect phone call.” You know, the one where he called up Ukrainian President Voldomyr Zelenskyy and withheld congressionally approved aid to the country in an effort to force and extort the foreign world leader into giving him dirt on his Democratic political opponent, and publicly announcing an investigation into Joe Biden and his family.

“That’s in direct contrast with our predecessor who withheld hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid from Ukraine,” Psaki added, specifically pointing out that the aid Trump withheld included the very same Javelin anti-tank missiles that Ukrainians have been using to stop Russian advances, before taking a clear-cut hit at the House Minority Leader himself and the contrast with which he responded to Trump’s treatment of Ukraine. “Which Mr. McCarthy, who is critical of us in this moment, defended at the time as ‘the rightful thing to do’ because he claimed that people believed there was corruption in the Zelenskyy administration.”
You do not mess with Jen Psaki. Ever.
