Look, I’m not trying to play favorites when it comes to the Biden administration. I wholeheartedly feel like President Biden hand-picked his team with the utmost care, attention, and respect for this healing nation and I don’t think he could have done a better job if he tried to. Each and every member of his team serves a purpose and serves it well, with the well-being, happiness, and safety of every single American at heart. In just a few short months, they have made me immeasurably proud and remind me every day that this country made the right decision this past November.
But let’s be honest y’all, I kinda do have a favorite. And it’s Jen Psaki.
Maybe it’s the residual effects of a Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Kayleigh McEnany cocktail that makes me so deeply fond of the Biden administration press secretary, but whatever it is, I can’t get enough of that woman. And neither can most Americans.
She’s poised. She’s graceful. She’s fiery and sharp when she needs to be. Quick-witted as all get out no matter how many “gotcha” questions Conservative reports try to lob at her. And I could literally watch her own Peter Doocy until the end of time. I’m not kidding.
It was my (and mother others’) hope to see Psaki serve as a pillar of the Biden administration until it comes to a close. But, as it turns out, it doesn’t look as though that will be a dream to come true for any of us.

Psaki recently sat down for a candid interview with her former Obama White House colleague David Axelrod on “The Axe Files” podcast, and the whole thing was just a fantastic listen. Psaki warmly praised President Biden — and not in that creepy, “Dear Leader” way that people praised Trump either. She talked about the press corps. and the ins and outs of her job in the Biden White House. It was pretty heartwarming in every way.
But…
Towards the end of the interview, per a report from CNN, Psaki dropped a bomb on our hearts.
Jen touched on the topic of her tenure with the Biden White House and said she loves the challenge and the responsibility that comes with serving as the White House Press Secretary but revealed that she’s spoken with the President’s transition team about ending her time there around a one-year term.
“I think it’s going to be time for somebody else to have this job, in a year from now or about a year from now,” Psaki said.
Once again, this revelation was handled with nothing short of the poise and grace we’ve come to expect from Jen Psaki. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t break our hearts.
People quickly took to Twitter to share their sadness:
Damn it my heart is broken after hearing the news that Jen Psaki one of the best WhiteHouse press secretary will be leaving her job this year,i don’t know about y’all but this freaking sucks

Really sad and disappointing news that Press Secretary Jen Psaki plans on stepping down later this year or early next year. She’s literally one of the best destroyers of bullshit I’ve ever seen. Ugh.

I would be cool with Jen Psaki being @PressSec for the rest of my natural life. But I appreciate that nobody deserves that fate.
Would appreciate if cable news carried more of her pressers live, but I guess refusing to lie or demean reporters of color doesn’t make for ratings.

If Jen Psaki wants to retire, I’m down to tell Peter Doocy to shut the fuck up every single day of the Biden administration until the end of the Harris administration.

It’s worth noting here that Psaki did make it clear from the very beginning that she didn’t want to make White House Press Secretary a permanent gig. But, we’re still allowed to be heartbroken, okay?
